Hello! Welcome to my blog. My name is Ashton, and I’m a twenty-something kindergarten teacher living in The Queen City. I’m the only daughter of a good ol’ Georgia boy and a South Floridian transplant, which makes for a rather interesting accent for me (just ask me to say the word “water” and you’ll understand). I absolutely love spending time with friends, and I have to say, I’ve been blessed with some of the absolute best! Most importantly, I love my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and I try to seek Him and His will for my life daily. He has been incredibly sovereign in so many areas of my life, most of which you’ll read about here.
These days, the blog doesn’t get as much attention as it used to when I was in college. And even then, it wasn’t as much as some blogs. But, I love this space, and I love getting to write about the things I’m learning, seeing, and doing.
When I’m not blogging, I’m probably teaching or doing something school-related. I spend most of my day teaching fifteen or so five-year-olds, or at least that’s what I say I do. Reality is that they teach me so much more than I could ever teach them.
Other than that, I spend a lot of time painting my nails and reading fiction. If I’m not doing that, it’s because I’m probably perusing Gap and JCrew’s sale racks or buying something else from Target that I really don’t need. (I admit I have a shopping problem. I’ve written about it multiple times.)
If I’m not teaching, shopping, or reading, I can guarantee that I’ll either be at church or with church friends. I’m so incredibly grateful for the place I call my church home, for the people who are more than fellow church attenders, and for all that I’m learning through that place and the people who gather there. If you’re in the Charlotte area and are looking for a place to worship, we’d so enjoy having you at Oakhurst.
Again, thanks for stopping by. Enjoy my musings, and feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
